Is this email from Paraph real?
A real Paraph signing request is sent from one of two domains, and its link goes to one of the same two. It names the person who sent it and their email address, and Paraph never asks for a password, a card number or bank details to sign anything.
The domains
- paraphsend.com sends signature requests, reminders and signed copies for documents sent on the Free plan, and hosts their signing links.
- paraphdocs.com does the same for documents sent on Pro.
- tryparaph.com is this website and our own mailboxes. It never sends automated mail and never hosts a signing link.
A link on any other domain is not from Paraph, even if the email looks like ours. Don't open it. Paraph uses separate domains on purpose, so that if one is ever blocked the others keep working, and our email domains explains why in full.
What a genuine request looks like
- From the sender's name followed by "via Paraph", at
documents@one of the two sending domains above. - Subject in the form "Alex Carter has sent you Mutual NDA to sign", with the sender's name and the document's title.
- The body says who asked you to sign what, repeats any message they wrote, and says whether anyone else is on the document.
- The button reads "Review and sign", and goes to a page on the same domain the email came from.
- The footer gives the sender's own email address, and tells you not to forward the link.
On the signing page, the sender's email address and organisation are shown before you sign anything.
Checks worth making
- Were you expecting a document from this person? If not, check with them another way, such as a phone number you already have, before you open the link.
- Does the signing page ask you to sign in, or for a password, card or bank details? A real Paraph signing page never does.
- Replying to the email goes to the sender, not to Paraph. That is useful if the sender is who they say they are, and a reason to use the report link below if you think they aren't.
Report a document
If a document looks wrong, report it from the link at the bottom of the signing page. It works even after you have signed, because that is often when people notice. Or forward the email to info@tryparaph.com.
A person reads every report, and the sender is never told who made it.
