How to sign a document on an Android phone
Tap the link in the email and it opens in your phone's browser, such as Chrome. Agree to sign electronically, fill in the green boxes, and sign: there is no app to install and no account to make.
Step by step
- Open the email in Gmail or whichever email app you use, and tap the button to review and sign. If your email app opens links inside itself, that works too.
- Agree to sign electronically. The first screen says who sent the document and what signing electronically means.
- Fill in your fields. Tap a green box, or the button that moves to the next one. For a signature, draw it with your finger or type your name. The date fills itself in.
- Sign. When the bar at the bottom says everything is filled in, press the button to sign and finish.
If something gets in the way
- You got interrupted. Everything you fill in saves as you go. Open the link again and carry on.
- You turned the phone round. Your drawing stays on the pad when the screen rotates or the keyboard opens.
- The page won't open. Check the link starts with https:// and one of our email domains. If it has expired, ask the sender to send it again.
The steps are the same as on any phone. How to sign a document on your phone covers declining and signing in order too.
