How to use templates for documents you send often
Set up a document once, save it as a template, and start the next one from the template with the fields already in place. Templates are unlimited on both plans, and on Pro you can share one with the whole organisation.
Saving a template
Open a document you've set up, with its fields placed, and save it as a template. The template keeps:
- the PDF;
- where every field is on the page;
- each signer's role, by name, such as "Client" or "Contractor", rather than a particular person's email address;
- the message.
A document that has been deleted can't be saved as a template, because there is no file left to reuse.
Starting a document from a template
Choose the template when you start a new document, then fill in who plays each role this time. The fields are already placed, so you check them and send.
Who can see a template
- On Free, a template belongs to the person who made it.
- On Pro, an owner or admin can share a template, and every member of the organisation can then use it.
You can rename a template or delete it at any time. Deleting a template doesn't touch any document started from it.
