What happens to my documents if I move from Pro to Free?
Nothing is deleted when you move from Pro to Free, whether you cancel or a payment fails. New documents carry the "Signed with Paraph" badge again, and roles stop applying, so everyone in the organisation can see every document again.
What changes
- The badge comes back on documents you send from now on: on the signing page, in the emails and on the certificate. It never goes on the signed PDF.
- Your branding stops on new documents. They show Paraph's name and colours again.
- Roles stop applying. On Free, every member sees every document. The email we send when you move to Free says this plainly, because it is the change most likely to matter.
- Folders stay, with their documents in them, and can still be opened. You can't make new ones.
- Retention rules stop running. They don't fire on the way out. They are kept, and if you return to Pro each one waits before it deletes anything again.
- Up to 20 signers on a new document, instead of 50.
What doesn't change
- Documents already sent keep the look they were sent with: a document sent on Pro keeps your logo and no badge, even after you move to Free.
- Nothing is deleted. Signed documents, drafts, templates and folders all stay.
When it happens
If you cancel, Pro carries on until the end of the period you have paid for. If a payment fails, you have 14 days to update the card, with a notice in the app, before the move.
